What do you do for self care? Self care sounds good when we say it but what do you really do to take care of you?
Self care is defined as the practice of taking action to preserve or improve one's health. This is big because a day of relaxation is a great example of self care. However, if you are relaxing while thinking of a masterplan to get the business started or planning the family schedule; well you may have just misrepresented the meaning of self care.
Self Care for me looks like:
Listening to a good book, I do not want anything that requires me to think! I want a good read that takes me into the reality of the book. Reading has always been a great escape for me and I could travel the world in my readings.
Having a relaxing massage while listening to some great music is therapy for me! Again, the massage allows me to disconnect from any phones calls, text messages, and everything for those 60 minutes.
Baking is my favorite past time! I don't know when I fell in love with baking cakes and cupcakes. It is so much fun for me to see the finished product. Baking relaxes me and again I am focused on the recipe and not over thinking and executing plans for the business. Baking allows me to relax and enjoy something that is solely for me.
Self Care means finding something that is for you and actively doing something to promote health. Clearing clutter and excessive thoughts from our minds, helps us to enjoy self care more effectively.
Find something you enjoy that is not work and do what works for you! Give yourself permission to do nothing
Release, Relax, Rejuvenate!!!
Happy Self Care
